1. Overview
NoteSecutive and NoteSecutive Training (the "App") are built for professional interpreters. The App is designed so that your live interpreting work — transcripts, notepad pages, sight-translation content — stays on your device and disappears when your session ends, rather than being collected by AMZing Media. This policy explains what the App actually does with data, in plain terms.
2. Information We Do Not Collect
AMZing Media does not operate a server or account system for NoteSecutive's live interpreting workspace (CONS, SIMUL, PAD, SIGHT, REF). We do not receive, see, or store your transcripts, notes, audio, or scanned documents. There is no login, no analytics SDK, and no ad network in the App.
3. Speech Recognition
Live transcription uses Apple's on-device Speech framework, and the App requires on-device recognition unconditionally: audio is processed locally and is never sent to Apple's servers or ours — there is no network transcription path in the App. A language that has not been downloaded to your device (via iOS Settings → General → Keyboard) simply cannot be used for transcription until you install it; the App will refuse rather than fall back to network processing. Audio itself is never saved by the App.
4. Camera and Photo Library
SIGHT mode uses your camera or photo library, with your permission, to bring a document on screen for sight translation. Images are processed on-device to display and support that workflow; the App does not upload them.
5. Live-Work Content: Ephemeral by Design
- Transcripts, notepad pages, and sight-translation sections live in memory for your working session.
- On-screen transcript tokens expire automatically based on your Token TTL setting (30--600 seconds, configurable in Setup).
- This content is not written to a persistent database, not backed up to iCloud, and not transmitted anywhere by the App.
- Closing the App, clearing a page, or ending your session removes this content from memory.
Because of this, AMZing Media has no way to recover your interpreting content if you lose it — there is no cloud backup for this workspace by design.
6. Reference Data (Glossaries, Dictionaries, Idioms)
The App ships with a bundled terminology database (legal, medical, and general glossaries) stored locally on your device to power the REF search feature. This is app content, not your personal data. Your own customizations — such as custom CONS symbols you create — are also stored locally on your device.
7. App Settings
Your preferences (fonts, colors, layout, active language pairs, feature toggles) are stored locally on your device using standard iOS app storage, so your setup persists between sessions. These settings are not transmitted to AMZing Media.
8. Training Subsystem and iCloud
NoteSecutive Training is separate from the live interpreting workspace and is not designed to be ephemeral — its purpose is to track your practice progress over time. Training progress and practice history may sync via Apple CloudKit to your own private iCloud account, so it's available across your devices. That sync is handled by Apple's iCloud infrastructure under Apple's privacy terms; AMZing Media does not run a separate server that receives this data. If you're signed out of iCloud or disable sync, Training data stays local to that device.
9. Airgap Lock
Airgap Lock is an optional feature that checks whether your device currently has active network connectivity and warns you if it does while the feature is enabled, so you can confirm Airplane Mode before a sensitive assignment. This check runs entirely on-device; it does not send network status anywhere.
10. Screen-Capture Protection and Local Logging
CONS, SIMUL, and SIGHT are built so their content does not appear in the actual image captured by a screenshot or screen recording. PAD, CONS, SIMUL, and SIGHT all blur or hide on screen while recording or mirroring is active — PAD is kept off the screenshot-image protection specifically so Apple Pencil drawing continues to work reliably. iOS gives no third-party app a documented, guaranteed way to control screenshot or recording behavior, so this relies on iOS platform behavior that has been stable for years but could change in a future update — it's a strong safeguard, not an absolute one, and it can't stop someone from photographing the screen with a separate device. The App also writes a local log entry (timestamp and language) when a screenshot is taken, stored only in the App's own storage on your device, for your own reference. This log is not uploaded or sent to AMZing Media.
11. Data Sharing
We do not sell your data. We do not share data with third parties for advertising or marketing. Because the App does not collect your interpreting content in the first place, there is nothing of that kind for us to share.
12. Data Security
Data that is stored (settings, reference content, Training progress) resides in Apple's standard app sandbox and, for Training, your personal iCloud account, protected by the security features of your device and Apple ID. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
13. Your Choices
- You can clear on-screen content at any time using the App's clear/reset controls.
- Deleting the App removes its local settings, reference customizations, and any local screenshot logs from your device.
- You can manage or disable iCloud sync for Training data through your device's iCloud/Apple ID settings.
- You can revoke camera, photo library, microphone, or speech recognition permissions at any time in iOS Settings; some features won't work without them.
14. California Privacy Rights
AMZing Media is based in Lodi, California. Whether or not the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), formally applies to a business of our size, we want California users to know where they stand:
- We do not sell or share your personal information, and we've never done so.
- Because NoteSecutive's live interpreting workspace doesn't collect your content in the first place (Section 2 and Section 5), there is generally nothing on our side to access, correct, or delete for that workspace.
- For anything we could plausibly hold — App Store purchase records via Apple, or an email you've sent us directly — you can ask us to tell you what we have or to delete it by contacting augusto@amzingmedia.com. We will not discriminate against you for making a request.
- Training progress synced via iCloud is controlled by you directly through your Apple ID/iCloud settings, per Section 8.
15. Children's Privacy
NoteSecutive is a professional tool for adult interpreters and interpreting students and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
16. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as the App changes. We'll update the "Last Updated" date above when we do.
